The program emphasis is self-designed in consultation with the program director. Some students enter the program with a specific interest. As you can see, the student in program #1 wanted to read as much Shakespeare as possible, and we designed the program accordingly. In these cases, the program will borrow heavily from courses in other departments. You should be aware, however, that not all conceivable emphases can be worked out. See the FAQ on this issue: " emphasis ."
Other students, by contrast, may have broader interests and may elect to take more of the LBST courses that are offered each semester.
